Women's retreat: why it's important and what it is

If you’re a woman, you enjoy relaxing, and you find that life can be stressful, a women’s retreat is likely right for you.

In short, a women’s retreat is a retreat for women, in case that wasn’t obvious.

But beneath the technical name, a women’s retreat is an opportunity for women to gather together to unlock new habits and hobbies and embrace their true selves.

Why is a women’s retreat important?

Before we truly understand what a women’s retreat is, I want us to understand why women need a retreat.

If you’re a woman, you might feel that you wear a lot of hats. You could be a: business owner, friend, mom, wife, daughter, sister, cook, cleaner, chauffeur, tutor, and the list could go on.

Heck, you might even be all of those things!

It can be overwhelming to simply exist as a woman.

Everyone seems to have expectations of who women are and how they should act. This is especially true for women who find themselves wearing so many hats.

When you’re wearing all these hats, it can be challenging to really know who you are.

Suppose you take off every single hat. What’s left?

It’s you.

But who are you?

If this question feels heavy, that’s okay. It’s completely normal to not fully understand who you are and to not recognize the lady without the hats.

At Rooted, you don’t have hats (unless you choose to put one on – both physically and metaphorically).

A women’s retreat is an opportunity for you to be you and for you to discover who you are.

If you’re craving solace from everyday stressors, a women’s retreat is for you.

If you need a break from the constant burnout and accompanying guilt, then a women’s retreat is for you.

If you want to develop practices that help you embrace and understand who you truly are, then a women’s treat is for you.

Why a women’s retreat?

Because women aren’t always given the opportunity to discover who they truly are.

Because sometimes women just need to get away.

Because you need a break.

So, what is a women’s retreat?

Now that you understand the why, it’s time to tackle what a women’s retreat is.

Well, all women’s retreats are different, so I’m going to share about what I think a women’s retreat is because I take my understanding of a women’s retreat and create the best retreat I can.

For me, a women’s retreat is a time for women to step away from their routine and responsibility and discover who they are and how they can maintain balance.

It’s a time for women to relax, and it’s a time for women to process some of their deepest feeling and emotions and how they’re being impacted by them.

A women’s retreat is an investment where you can recharge in a new location, meet new friends who are feeling similar things to you, and surround yourself with beauty.

It’s a break.

No work. No kids. No partners. No chores. No responsibility. No expectations.

What do you do at a women’s retreat?

Well, there are the basics like eating privately catered meals that are specified to your dietary needs and roaming around the beautiful private home and grounds. Oh! And did I mention that lounging in the sun near or in the pool is also something we do?

Then, there are also activities that will help you learn how to establish balance in your everyday life.

Through guided meditations, journaling, sound healing, and movement work, you’ll learn how to find inner peace and balance so that you can confidently navigate your routines.

Then one of the best parts is the opportunities to connect with other women.

It doesn’t matter if you’re extroverted or introverted, you’ll have opportunities to hear about each other stories and learn from one another’s life experiences.

At Rooted, we have a balance of relaxing and learning.

We want you to enjoy your downtime, but we also want you to take time to explore new ways of finding balance.

What are people saying about retreats?

Since I’m passionate about retreats, I want to take a moment to share about what people are saying about them.

I think that sharing about someone else’s experience can help you better understand the impact that a women’s retreat can have.

When you attend a retreat, I want you to feel loved and welcome, but I also want you to feel challenged to grow.

In case you can’t tell, I’m really passionate about creating opportunities for women to gather and enjoy their time. I want each women’s retreat I host to be an authentic and enjoyable experience, so I do my best to create an environment that is fun and memorable.

I want to join a women’s retreat!

Of course, you do! How could you not?!

It seems like we all need a break from something, and a women’s retreat is the perfect opportunity to take that break.
